District staff reviewed a package of student handbook revisions that include embedding bullying guidance into all levels and adding AI usage guidelines and links to current policies.
Megan, the teaching and learning presenter, said the handbook revisions ensure policies referenced in handbooks actually appear there and that, where appropriate, policies will be linked so handbook users always see accurate language. "You will see that bullying handbook information has been added across the board," she said, and the draft AI guidelines that had been circulated for feedback are now embedded in the handbooks for staff and families to reference.
Staff credited Teresa Dunham for reviewing policies and identifying missing references across grade‑level handbooks. Megan told the board that upon approval next month the highlighted drafts will be cleaned and incorporated into printed and electronic handbooks.
No formal approval occurred at this meeting; staff asked trustees to review the draft document and bring questions next month when the board will consider final approval.
