Orange County legislators voted to accept a Department of Criminal Justice Services grant of $112,810 for the Crimes Against Revenue Program to support investigation and prosecution of crimes that wrongfully deprive the state of funds.
Chris Borik, representing the Orange County District Attorney, described the program as a long-standing state grant designed to enhance prosecutions in cases where the state recovers money. "The Crimes Against Revenue Program grama is a DCGS grant we've had since about 2015," Borik said, adding the funding helps cover "part of the salary of the senior ADH" who handles many of the white‑collar cases. The committee recorded the request as legislative request 146 and approved acceptance and appropriation of the funds.
Officials said the grant supports prosecutions of public‑benefits fraud, Medicaid fraud and tax fraud; no additional conditions or outside approvals were cited in the hearing.
