Summary

The San Angelo ISD Board of Trustees approved a memorandum of understanding with Wall ISD to file a minor boundary adjustment correcting a clerical discrepancy on official maps, the board decided by a 7-0 vote at its pre-agenda workshop.
The issue was identified during a routine property audit by the Tom Green County Appraisal District, which found inconsistencies between the school-district boundary lines used by the appraisal district and the Texas Education Agency's official map. Doctor Brandon (presenting for the district) said both districts agree on the correction and that the proposed adjustment will conform TEA's map to long-standing practice along portions of Country Club Road on the San Angelo–Wall boundary. "Where people have been paying taxes for the last 30 years is where they will continue to pay taxes. It is just making our maps match how that has been done," the presenter said.
The board motion to approve the MOU was made by Mr. Dindal and seconded by Mr. Gallegos. The board minutes record a seven-to-zero vote in favor: "Motion passes 7 0." The district emphasized the change is clerical and administrative: there will be no transfer of land, no change to student attendance zones, no changes to bus routes, and no change in which district collects local property taxes. The corrected maps and the signed MOU will be submitted to the Texas Education Agency under the minor boundary adjustment process identified in state law (Texas Education Code, Sec. 13.231 was cited during the presentation).
Why it matters: the action resolves a mapping inconsistency that could create future confusion in tax and property records by aligning TEA's official boundaries with local practice and appraisal-district records.
