The motion stated: "I recommend denial of the request... due to the lack of provided... traffic impact analysis documentation that was requested at the planning and zoning commission April 2025 meeting and not in compliance, in our opinion, of the 2020 comprehensive plan of Montgomery, Texas." The commission approved the motion by voice vote.
The commission’s recommendation will be transmitted to City Council, which holds final authority on special-use permits. The record shows commissioners also held a closed-session consultation with the city attorney under Texas Government Code Section 551.071 earlier in the meeting related to a special-use permit request for a fast-food restaurant with drive-through service.
