I'm just... not liking the smaller sign that hangs up by the sidewalk. Not appreciating that as it's going into Montgomery." Staff and the applicant confirmed the signs meet dimensional and placement limits and do not exceed signage requirements for the district.
A motion approving the five signs and requesting that the hanging sign be changed to a monument sign passed on a voice vote recorded as three in favor and one opposed. Staff noted the request was a recommendation to the applicant rather than a binding redesign order; follow-up will confirm whether the applicant will convert the sign.
The commission said the request aims to maintain a consistent historic look along the downtown corridor as businesses continue to locate there.
