Council approves engagement of Evans, Froehlich, Beth and Chamley for ordinance enforcement

Rob, a city staff member presenting the item, told the council the previous attorney, identified in the meeting as Ms. Rupiper, is shifting her practice and the city solicited recommendations for a successor. "The offices of Evans, Froehlich, Beth and Chamley came highly recommended," Rob said, adding that he met with the firm and they were "on the same page on how we want to proceed with ordinance violations." He recommended council approve the engagement.
The council moved, voted by roll call and approved the resolution. No public comments or objections on the record addressed the engagement during the meeting.
The firm will be retained to represent the city on ordinance violations and related enforcement matters; staff did not disclose contract length or fee schedule in the public presentation. Council directed staff to proceed with the engagement under the approved resolution.
