Council backs Alexander Molding volunteer upgrades at Birchfield Park; pickleball courts to be lit

A parks representative said Stacy Young, who "works for Alexander Molding," contacted the town offering to refinish benches and internal walls, repair four dugouts, replace decking boards on the concession stand, refinish concession window frames and build a step to replace blocks. The parks representative requested the council’s support for the company’s volunteer work.
Council member Forsky moved and Council member Diehl seconded a motion "to give our support to Alexander Molding to make upgrades at the park." The motion passed unanimously with votes recorded for Council members Kvorski, McMahon, Watkins, Diehl and Albert Voorhees.
During the parks discussion a council member confirmed that the pickleball courts will be lit, after staff photographed the NIPSCO drop and the run to the basketball court to confirm distance and a power connection. A parks speaker said, "It's material and labor. That's awesome," referring to Alexander Molding’s offer.
The council asked park staff to coordinate with town contacts (including "Bubba," per the transcript) and to ensure volunteer work is scheduled and coordinated; no permit or funding authorization was recorded on the motion beyond the council’s formal support.
