Jefferson County authorized staff to finalize utility easements with the City of Jefferson and Jefferson Utilities to serve the Food and Beverage Innovation Campus on land sold to Kekum Inc.; county will not seek payment for easement conveyance.
Jefferson County supervisors authorized county staff to finalize and execute utility easements with the City of Jefferson and Jefferson Utilities to serve the Food and Beverage Innovation Campus being developed on former county farmland sold to Kekum Inc.
The action (Resolution 202527) follows prior county approval of a certified survey map and land sale that subdivided the former county farm into lots and right-of-way dedications to support the campus. County staff said several utility easements have been identified and additional easements may be required depending on final engineering and future tenants.
The resolution directs staff to negotiate the rights and obligations with Jefferson Utilities and the City of Jefferson, including restoration of disturbed property and ongoing maintenance. The county indicated it does not intend to seek payment for conveyance of the utility easement at the site.
Supervisor Paulson introduced the resolution and the board approved it by voice vote. The executive committee had recommended forwarding the measure after its May 28 meeting.
