Stephenson County commissioners approved a one-year renewal for the county’s online order-of-protection software; county staff said the contract will cost about $3,500 for the coming year.
County staff described the program as an online intake and document-population tool that asks structured questions and then generates the court orders so the final orders are typed and consistent. “The program is all online, and people fill out the order of protections online. They ask you questions, so the answers are better completed than just trying to guess,” the staff member said during the meeting.
Staff said the county has $3,119.63 remaining in an SRL fund from the prior year and plans to apply those funds toward the renewal; the remaining local share would be $380.30 from a department budget line, as described at the meeting.
Commissioners approved the renewal by voice vote with no opposition recorded on the transcript. Staff said Carl reviewed the agreement and found no issues; the chair or the board’s designee will sign the contract.
The board’s action authorized payment and execution for one year; no long-term contract changes or procurement disputes were raised at the meeting.
