Meriwether County staff recommended continuing the county’s insurance coverage with ACCG IRMA for the policy year beginning July 1, 2025, and the Board of Commissioners voted to approve the recommendation.
Staff reported the total premium for the upcoming coverage year is $700,006.00 and noted a 5% discount of $35,030 for the county’s safety coordinator, producing the net premium presented to the board. Staff provided a multi‑year premium summary to show trends since 2022–23 and recommended approval to allow the chair or vice chair to sign the agreement.
A commissioner moved to approve the staff recommendation to continue coverage with ACCG IRMA for July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026 and to authorize the chair or vice chair to sign the agreement. The board voted in favor.
Staff said the discount was applied for having a safety coordinator in place and that the policy will be renewed through the county’s designated signatory. The finance presentation noted the county’s interest earnings and other fund balances in the meeting packet but did not alter the insurance authorization.
The county will execute the policy documents and finalize payments through the finance office.
