Pomona Unified SELPA adopts 2025–26 annual service plan and budget at public hearing

Ruiz said the SELPA serves students with disabilities from birth through age 22 and reported Pomona Unified currently serves 3,446 students with individualized education programs (IEPs). She told the board the annual service plan documents available services (for example, occupational and physical therapy, language and speech services) and the continuum of placement options from general education through nonpublic schools and agencies.
On the budget plan, Ruiz presented projected revenue and expenditure percentages. She summarized state special education aid at about 55% of projected revenue, local property taxes at 4%, and federal IDEA funds contributing a combined share of roughly 17% (IDEA Part B) and other federal/state sources. On expenditures she said certificated salaries account for about 33% of the budget, classified salaries roughly 13%, employee benefits 19%, and supplies/services/capital around 31%.
The board opened and closed the public hearing on the SELPA plans; no public comments were submitted for this item. A motion to adopt the resolutions was made and the board approved the actions by a 5–0 vote on June 11.
