The district reported roughly $316,000 of additional expenses tied to utilities and $263,000 related to the bond transaction, partly offset by $400,000 in additional bond-related revenue.
The transfer resolution authorizes moving interest earnings from the working cash fund to the capital projects fund "not to exceed $178,800," a move staff described as an annual practice to bolster the capital projects balance. The motion passed 7'0to'0.
Also on the business agenda, the board approved a renewal of the district's contract with Music for Youth of Arlington Heights for the 2025'26 through 2027'28 school years. District staff said the three'year renewal continues existing service levels and contains annual increases tied to the consumer price index; the board approved the contract 7'0to'0.
The actions were moved and seconded by board members and were called to roll-call votes before carrying unanimously. Board and staff members said there were no objections from the public during the statutorily required notice period for the amended budget.
The board's approval of the capital transfer and contract renewal follows the district's stated goal of keeping capital equipment investments funded while maintaining in-house program continuity for music instruction.
