FAYETTE COUNTY, W.Va. — The Fayette County Commission approved final closeout documents and budget amendments tied to a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) used for the Armstrong PFD fountain water tank replacement project.
Leslie Taylor of Region 4 presented the final contractor pay application, the engineer’s final invoice and invoices from Region 4 totaling $192,467.55 and asked the commission to approve them together. Taylor also presented a project budget amendment to recapture unused grant funds and a CDBG amendment to extend the project period of performance by about three months to allow the state program office time to process final paperwork.
Nut graf: The paperwork included the final performance report documenting who the project served and how the funds were spent. Region 4 asked the commission to approve the drawdown and the budget amendment so that the final closeout paperwork could be completed by the end of the month.
Commissioners voted to approve the final paperwork, the budget amendment to recapture unused funds, and the CDBG time-extension request. The commission chair called the motion and commissioners responded “Aye.”
Ending: Region 4 staff said they expect the final paperwork to be completed by the end of the month and asked the county to approve the documents collectively so Region 4 and the CDBG program office could finish processing the closeout.
