Flagstaff commission reviews EIA/BIA grant proposals; approves some projects, defers others for follow-up

The City of Flagstaff Beautification & Public Art Commission on June 9 heard multiple public‑art and beautification applicants under its EIA/BIA grant program, taking action on several proposals and asking staff to follow up on outstanding questions for others.

Approved projects - Smoke Rise basketball court mural (applicant Danielle): The commission approved a proposal to repaint and revitalize the 1,600‑square‑foot concrete basketball court at Smoke Rise Park with a community‑driven mural and additional court markings to encourage multi‑use play (e.g., hopscotch, four‑square).
