Board elects Amanda Bollinger as first vice chair

The board elected Amanda Bollinger as first vice chair in a unanimous vote during the meeting. The motion to elect Bollinger was made by Vice Chair Wood and was seconded; the chair announced the vote was unanimous.

The vote filled a vacancy created after a prior officer, Molly, left the board. The chair noted the board had voted in December to expand leadership to three members to spread workload and improve balance, and said the board had been monitoring nominations by email before the meeting.

Amanda Bollinger, a board member, summarized her reasons for seeking the role, saying she values listening to differing viewpoints and bringing people together. “I am a big fan of Adam Grant’s work… it’s really important to make sure that we listen to and talk to people that have different viewpoints,” Bollinger said, adding that she had contacted each board member in advance and would be “honored if it’s the will of the board to serve in this capacity.”

The chair opened the floor for nominations and said there was one candidate submitted via email. After the nomination period, Vice Chair Wood moved to elect Bollinger; the motion was seconded and the chair called the electronic vote, announcing, “It’s unanimous.”

Board members did not propose alternative candidates during the meeting. The chair framed the expanded three-member leadership as a response to workload and as a means to provide greater balance in board operations following the departure of Molly.

With the vote concluded, Bollinger assumed the first vice chair position for the board.
