The Natchitoches Historic District Commission approved an application by Eric Payton to perform minor repairs and repaint the residence at 845 Third Street.
The approval covers replacement of damaged decking and steps with treated lumber (to be stained), repainting the building from dark red to a silver-gray body color with dark navy trim, and painting the door white.
Eric Payton confirmed at the podium that replacement decking and steps will use treated wood and be stained rather than painted. He identified the body paint as a Behr product and said the dark-trim color closely matches Sherwin-Williams number 9179. Commissioners asked for the paint brand and chip numbers to be added to the file. Commissioner Horton moved to accept the application as presented with swatches; Commissioner Salter seconded. The commission voted to approve the application.
The approval included the condition that the applicant provide paint-chip information (brand and number) to the commission file.
