Commission approves paint and conditional matching trim for Simply Chic Boutique on Front Street

Spivey said the boutique will retain the main building color and use Benjamin Moore "White Dove" for trim. "...the trim area around the windows and doors will be used. Benjamin Moore, white dove," staff confirmed on the record. Commission members advised against flat paint for exterior trim; the commission recommended semi-gloss for durability.
Commissioner Donahoe moved to approve the application as presented; Commissioner Robinson seconded. The motion passed unanimously. Donahoe then moved, and Robinson seconded, a separate motion that allowed adjacent units in the same building and under the same ownership to paint trim the same color if the owners agreed; that motion also passed.
The approvals allow Spivey to proceed with the boutique's exterior work and give the property owner an expedited path to paint adjoining storefront trim with matching color and finish, subject to the condition that adjacent units use the same color.
