The board approved a request from the Office of the State Auditor to terminate Claiborne County’s audit contract with Watkins Ward and to have the state auditor’s office perform audits for the fiscal year(s) indicated.

Chancery Clerk Gloria Dodson presented a letter from Jeff Goodwin, CPA and director for the financial and compliance audit division of the state auditor’s office, asking approval to terminate the private audit contract so the state auditor’s office can conduct the audits for fiscal year 2024 (as described in the letter included in the board packet). The board voted to enter the request in the minutes and to approve termination of the contract as described in the packet.
