The Weld County Board of Commissioners approved Bid B2500044 on May 19, awarding the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) one-stop operator contract to Employment Services of Weld County.
Toby Taylor of the county purchasing division said the solicitation sought a one-stop operator to coordinate services at the Weld County American Job Center focused on job training and placement. A workforce development board committee reviewed and scored the single submitted proposal; on May 13 the full workforce development board voted unanimously to recommend awarding the contract to Employment Services of Weld County.
Commissioner Kevin Ross moved approval, seconded by Commissioner Lynette Peppler; the board approved the bid. No members of the public addressed the item during the presentation.
Staff indicated the award follows the workforce development board's recommendation and will allow continued operation and coordination of workforce services through the American Job Center.
