Weld County commissioners approved a tax-incentive agreement on May 19 that will rebate half of the personal-property taxes for equipment Charm Industrial Inc. places into service at its Fort Lupton facility beginning in 2026.
The measure, authorized under Colorado Revised Statutes 30-11-123, covers personal property at 2290 South Raleigh Avenue in Fort Lupton. Under the agreement approved by the board, the 50% rebate would apply to personal property placed in service and appearing on the tax roll beginning in 2026 and continue until the date described in the contract (noted in the board presentation as "02/1935").
Dawn Anderson of the Department of Planning Services presented the ordinance language to the board; Commissioners Scott James and Kevin Ross moved and seconded the motion to approve, and the board voted in favor.
Commissioner Kevin Ross thanked staff and State representatives for their work bringing the agreement forward. No public comment was offered during the hearing.
The agreement follows a pattern of similar tax rebate arrangements the county has approved for industry over the past two decades, according to the staff presentation. The county attorney and staff recommended approval and advised the board the arrangement would take effect only for qualifying personal property placed into service during the covered period.
Next steps: the chair was authorized to sign the agreement so it can be executed and take effect in line with its terms.
