Charlie [no last name provided], a member of the county probation staff, told the committee that probation staff, judges and attorneys attended the National Association of Drug Courts conference and that the trip yielded ideas for local specialty courts.
The report matters because committee members said recertification and new tools from national peers can influence the operation of the county’s two specialty courts.
Charlie said the conference "was a really good time for probation, the judges, myself, public defender's office, a couple of the assistant states attorneys went to. It was good for us to get down there to be able to, kinda recertify or re, solidify what we have already picked up before for drug courts and specialty courts, but also, pick up a couple new tools and kinda figure out where we're gonna go with those 2 specialty courts that we have here in Lee County. So just wanna give you an update on that. We were down there for about 4 days."
Charlie also provided the committee’s collections update: "what we have as of May 31. The, total amount received for that was $11,649.78." No motions or votes followed; the item was presented as an informational update.
Committee members asked if there were questions on the collections update; none were recorded. Charlie offered to provide additional quarterly data if requested.
