Council adopts district court boundary and stormwater-education interlocal renewals on consent
Summary
The King County Council adopted two consent ordinances: one updating King County District Court electoral district boundaries and another renewing an interlocal agreement for stormwater education with Burien, Des Moines, Normandy Park and SeaTac to serve the Highline Public School District.
The Metropolitan King County Council approved two consent items during its May 27 meeting: a proposed ordinance updating King County District Court electoral district boundaries for 2025, and a proposed ordinance authorizing the county executive to renew an interlocal agreement with the cities of Burien, Des Moines, Normandy Park and SeaTac for stormwater education in the Highline Public School District.
Vice Chair Perry moved the consent items and the clerk called the roll. The council adopted both items on a 9–0 vote. The clerk’s summary identified the district court boundary ordinance as proposed ordinance 2025-0086 and the interlocal agreement authorization as proposed ordinance 2025-1106.
Why it matters: The district court-boundary ordinance updates electoral boundaries for 2025. The interlocal agreement authorizes continued regional stormwater-education work in the Highline Public School District, continuing county collaboration with nearby cities on education and watershed stewardship.
