Defiance City Council voted Tuesday to enter executive session to discuss the appointment of a public official.
Council member Mack moved for an executive session “with counsel under 1 21.22 1, the appointment of a public official.” The motion carried on a roll-call vote in which all present council members answered yes. Council then recessed to executive session; the public record does not disclose the content of the closed session.
The council returned from the meeting with no further public action reported on the record about the appointment. Ohio law permits executive sessions for certain personnel matters; no names or subsequent actions were disclosed in the open portion of the meeting.
