Mount Carmel schedules July Fourth events, touch-a-truck, Rotary Corps Day and a June 14 Flag Day ceremony

Mayor (unnamed) outlined several community events set for early July, including a fish cookout on July 3, a July 4 parade at 10 a.m. and fireworks at 9 p.m., and a touch-a-truck event on July 5 tied to Shop with a Cop and Shop with a Firefighter.
"Fantastic is just right around the corner, and we'll start out on July 3 with the fish, cookout at the WC cafeteria and senior center. And then on July 4, the parade will kick off at 10AM and then the fireworks will start at 9PM. July 5, we're having a touch a truck event for shop with a cop, shop with a firefighter. If you have, an item, a vehicle that you would like to allow kids to get all over up there, we would appreciate you getting with Chief McWilliams or Captain Mark Seaton on that," the mayor said. The mayor also said Whiskey Throttle, a band from Evansville, will perform July 5 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., and July 6 is Rotary Corps Day with tickets available through Rotarians or at City Hall.
Separately, Commissioner Dallas invited the public to a Flag Day ceremony hosted by the Mount Carmel Elks at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14. He said the Wabash County Singers and a VFW/American Legion color guard would participate.
