The Council Rock School District Finance Committee recommended renewing the district’s school food service contract with Aramark for 2025‑26 and confirmed that meal prices for students will remain unchanged, the committee heard June 9.
Tony Rapp told the committee the state had reviewed and approved the contract extension; meal prices for reimbursable breakfast and lunch will remain at current levels. He noted that some a la carte prices may increase because of rising vendor costs but said the core meal pricing remains unchanged.
Rapp also announced the district will switch its point‑of‑sale (POS) and parent‑payment service to MySchoolBucks next year. He said any money families currently have in existing student accounts will be migrated to MySchoolBucks and that the district will publish instructions for families to sign up and access funds in the new service.
The committee also discussed a summer benefit program (commonly called Summer EBT or Pandemic Electronic Benefit analogs) for students who qualify for free or reduced‑price meals. Rapp said qualifying students may receive an available benefit (he cited a sample figure of about $121 for eligible families) and that the district had publicized the program via newsletters and a QR code on its website. Staff said families should check eligibility and preserve copies of state rebate or benefit forms if they later apply for other district programs that require proof of state benefits.
Ending: The committee recommended proceeding with the Aramark renewal and the POS vendor change; staff will publish enrollment instructions for MySchoolBucks and continue outreach on summer food assistance eligibility.
