The Lynn Haven City Commission on June 10 approved a 12-month extension to the development order for M and M Market, a convenience store at 1201 Ohio Avenue that is planning an expansion and stormwater work.
Planning staff described the original development order, approved in September 2023, which authorized expansion of the store plus construction of stormwater facilities, additional parking and landscaping. The applicant previously requested an extension because the property was used for several months as a laydown yard by Bay County and the Florida Department of Transportation during the Twelfth Street widening project.
Planning staff said construction has not begun; the applicant reported increased material costs and requested additional time to assemble materials and begin work. Commissioner Purnell, citing roughly eight months of staging on the site, moved to grant another 12-month extension; the motion carried unanimously.
The extension runs from the original expiration in September 2025 for an additional 12 months, giving the applicant time to restart the project and comply with current permitting and stormwater standards.
