Task force seeks hazardous‑waste collection dates for island contractors and residents

He said the contractor is working on scheduling and that community promotion would be necessary to attract turnout.
Committee members suggested holding collections twice a year (quarterly or semiannually were discussed) and soliciting participation or cost sharing from island contractors to offset town costs. Chad said the vendors identified sometimes run events seasonally (February and August were mentioned) and agreed to follow up and report dates to the committee. Members stressed advertising to contractors and residents to ensure good participation.
No formal motion to fund or schedule events was adopted at the June 11 meeting; staff will pursue contacts and return with specific dates and cost estimates.
