Local manufacturers donate engines and tools to Oak Creek High School tech‑ed program

Oak Creek High School’s technical education program will receive a series of equipment donations from two manufacturers, district staff announced at the June 9 school board meeting.
Matt Lonergan, a Tech Ed teacher at Oak Creek High School, described a Briggs & Stratton donation of several pallets containing "several dozen small engines" that will expand lab opportunities for the small‑engines classes. Lonergan said the engines will let the program add more lab stations and potentially expand the curriculum beyond a single level.
Lonergan also described a contribution from Milwaukee Tool. He said an Oak Creek alum who works at Milwaukee Tool provided part one of a two‑part donation — six "packouts" filled with power tools that will allow students to work in pairs without waiting for equipment. He estimated the first part of that gift to be valued at about $10,000 and said the district expects the remainder before the fall term.
Lonergan thanked Briggs & Stratton engineer Glenn Strojek and Milwaukee contact Jason Ritz for their work securing the donations and told the board the materials will be put into classrooms this fall.
