The Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District board approved the district's 2025–26 compensation plan at its June 9 meeting in two consecutive motions, including a measure to provide back pay for certain employees.
Board member Whitman moved the first motion to approve the compensation plan and the proposed back pay component; the motion passed on a roll-call vote. Whitman then moved the second motion to approve the remainder of the compensation plan; that motion also passed on roll call. During discussion board members thanked administration for addressing back pay and noted the district would continue multi-year step increases for new teachers.
A board member asked about base-pay changes for newly hired teachers and whether multi‑year step increases (for example, increases across a five‑year step schedule) remain in place. Staff confirmed the base salary for new teachers would increase as described in the motion and that planned multi‑year step increases remain part of the compensation structure. One board member said, "I fully agree with it...I think that's very generous of us," in reference to the back-pay provision. (Meredith Witton, board member)
Board members conducted roll-call votes; the clerk recorded the motions as passed. The district will implement the compensation adjustments and process back pay according to the adopted plan.
