District says bond‑funded work progressing; athletic turf, HVAC and fine arts nearing completion

Facilities staff gave the board an update on bond projects, saying multiple school construction and upgrade efforts are underway and most are on track to be finished before the fall semester.
"Give you a quick update. Not a whole lot of differences from the last time because things are have progressed pretty well. The athletic fields... they've started laying turf there. They had to go back and do a little bit of soil stabilization last week, but they're starting to put some of the underlayment pad down there and everything," facilities staff told the board.
The report listed the following project highlights included in the presentation: final walkthrough and near‑completion at Hosea, turf and soil stabilization at athletic fields, drainage work at Lafayette, dirt work at Benton, roadway completion at Carden Park with traffic signal pending, Oak Grove work beginning, Parkway sidewalks nearly complete, mobilization at Pickett, saw cutting and erosion control at Spring Garden, and intercom system installations at a mix of schools (completed at Parkway, Pickett and Elk Grove; programming finishing at Carden Park and Lake Contrary; Lafayette Central and Benton awaiting programming; installation active at Spring Garden).
Fine arts spaces are near completion and most specialty equipment orders have been fulfilled; only minor curtain installs remain at a few sites. HVAC upgrades were reported as underway at Rubidoux, Edison, Field and Mark Twain. Science and technology purchases are expected to begin this month and to be complete before school starts in the fall.
When trustees asked whether most projects would be complete before school starts, staff said tracks and fields and intercom systems will be finished before fall, Hosea will be completed "any day," and Oak Grove and Spring Garden will likely finish shortly after school begins. HVAC and science/technology upgrades are expected to be done before school.
Staff said they plan to provide photographs and a public story about the construction work to show progress to the community.
