The Loveland City Council unanimously adopted Resolution 55 authorizing the donation of decommissioned TASER X2 units and related accessories to the Village of Georgetown Police Department.
Chief of Police Michael Gabrielson told the council the Loveland Police Department upgraded to TASER 7 devices in 2024 and now has a quantity of decommissioned, out-of-warranty TASER X2 units and accessories that are no longer needed for municipal operations. Chief Gabrielson said Georgetown had expressed interest and provided a letter included in the council packet from Georgetown Chief Enloe.
The items are fully depreciated and hold no book value, Chief Gabrielson said. He asked council to authorize the donation; staff estimated 19 units at an approximate TASER estimate of $150 each, a nonrecoverable value of about $2,850. He noted the transfer would help Georgetown extend the usable life of equipment they already possess and supply spare batteries, training aids and holsters.
On a roll-call vote the council adopted Resolution 55, 7 to 0. The meeting record does not show additional conditions on the donation.
