Caldwell County Schools celebrates class of 2025, outlines summer meal sites

Board recognized the Caldwell County Schools Class of 2025 with graduation statistics and announced district summer meal sites running June 5 through mid-August.
David Pope, chief information officer for Caldwell County Schools, told the board the district graduated 809 students in 2025 and summarized the class's post-graduation plans and awards.
"This year, Caldwell County Schools graduated 809 students," Pope said. "Those 809 earned 1,344 college acceptances. Nearly 250 will carry on to a college or university to pursue a four-year degree and 288 will continue to attend junior college to pursue a two-year degree or other vocational certifications. 161 will join the workforce and 28 are enlisted in the armed services. The class of 2025 earned 416 college or university, career, artistic, academic or citizenship endorsements and they earned an incredible $20,785,996 in scholarships. As Caldwell County School students, they earned more than 12,000 college credits, which equates to an estimated $917,224 in savings to students and their families."
Superintendent Don (Tom) Phipps told the board the district's summer feeding program began June 5 and will continue through mid-August; he read a list of sites and asked the community to consult the district website and social media for times. The locations listed included Yokefellow, Poplar Apartments, Saw Mills Park, Martin Luther King Center, Redwood Park, Mulberry Park, Gamewell Park, Granite Falls Park, Hudson Middle School, Mulberry Park and Gaines Mill Park.
Board members applauded the graduates and asked staff to provide copies of the graduation report for future reference.
