The Valley Central Board of Education approved items 1–23 on the consent agenda by a single vote, and then reviewed several policy items that were presented for public posting and board adoption.
Board President Bond said she would "lump" items 1–23 unless any member requested separate consideration; the motion to approve items 1–23 passed with a 7–0 voice vote. Later in the meeting the board read summaries of policy updates: a policy to designate an ex officio student member to the board (per state guidance), updates on student use of personal electronic devices in response to a gubernatorial directive, a policy addressing extreme heat condition days (when occupiable spaces reach 82°F or higher as defined in law) and a nepotism policy to reduce conflicts of interest in hiring and promotions.
President Bond said the new student‑member policy and device policy reflect state guidance and that the policies are posted on the district website for review. Board members did not amend the policies during the meeting.
The board then moved to an executive session on personnel matters and adjourned after the closed session.
