HINSDALE, Ill. — The board approved a design-build guaranteed maximum price contract with Burke LLC of Rosemont, Ill., for the village’s 2025 sanitary sewer rehabilitation and lining project, in the amount of $454,364.35.
Staff described the project as part of a multiyear program that uses closed-circuit television to inspect pipes and then applies trenchless cured-in-place lining or spot repairs where rehabilitation is needed. The contractor will install cured-in-place liners that are inflated and cured to form new pipe within the existing mains, thereby minimizing street excavation.
Trustees waived competitive bidding and authorized Burke LLC as the design-build general contractor; staff said Burke previously worked on the downtown parking deck and that subcontractors with trenchless experience will perform the lining work. The village presented the award as the lowest-risk path to complete more than 5,500 feet of repair work this year.
Ending: The project award authorizes staff to proceed to construction under the guaranteed maximum price; staff will return with final closeout numbers when work is complete.
