The Winter Haven City Commission adopted Resolution R‑25‑28 approving a grant agreement with the Florida Department of Management Services (DMS) under contract number DMS2425‑426 to receive cybersecurity service capabilities valued at about $50,000.
City staff said the award comes from the Local Government Cybersecurity Grant Program, a competitive program funded through section 200 of the enacted Florida FY 2024‑25 General Appropriation Act. The grant provides nonrecurring software, services and solutions to enhance local government cybersecurity. Winter Haven was awarded services focused on external‑facing asset discovery, content delivery and email security; staff said there is no direct financial impact on the city and the estimated value of services is $50,000.
Staff recommended adoption and the commission approved the resolution by voice vote after a public hearing with no speakers. The resolution authorizes the city manager to execute the agreement and take necessary actions to implement the services.
