Commissioners approve FY25 budget amendment adding insurance proceeds and $150,000 for legal services

The Montgomery County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved an amendment to the fiscal year 2025 budget on June 9 to record insurance proceeds and add funds for legal services.
Commissioner John Gannon presented the amendment, describing changes to revenue and specific expenditure accounts. He told commissioners the billing and codes department received insurance proceeds that would be used to purchase a vehicle and that adjustments were needed across the budget pages to reflect the revenue. Gannon said, in part, to make changes to revenue source account numbers and to adjust codes compliance motor-vehicle and maintenance lines to match the insurance proceeds.
He also moved to add $150,000 to the county attorney’s legal services account (account 51400, code 53310). The clerk recorded a unanimous vote of 20 yeses, 0 nos, 0 abstentions on both the amendment and the resolution as amended.
The amendment instructs departments to reconcile the specified account numbers and to reflect the insurance proceeds in the revenue source; the county attorney’s office receives the added legal-services appropriation. No further conditions or referrals were included in the motion.
Commissioners did not request additional public hearings on the budget amendment; the motion passed on voice vote and roll-call tally as recorded by the clerk.
