Audit presenter Mister Schneider told the committee the audit examined cash collections, invoicing to veterinarians, handwritten receipts, purchase requisitions, time sheets and inventory counts and found no exceptions. "We don't touch the actual, substance. We looked at the log. We found a math error," Schneider said. He added that a separate cremation log review showed no exceptions and that the county had obtained the most recent state inspection report, which "had no findings."
Schneider said the audit was part of the office’s three‑year rotation through county departments. Committee members praised Animal Services staff for their work but did not direct any specific follow‑up beyond the standard auditing process. No formal motion accepting the audit report was recorded in the transcript.
