Committee approves three easement encroachment agreements for private pool decks and utility connections

Columbia County's Development and Planning Services Committee on June 10 approved three easement encroachment agreements that allow property owners to construct decks or permit utility crossings within existing easements, staff said.

The first encroachment concerns tax map 007G, parcel 453: staff said the applicant requested permission to build a wooden deck around an above-ground pool that encroaches into a 15-foot sanitary sewer easement; staff reviewed the request and recommended approval. The third encroachment is for tax map 059A, partial 307: staff reported the applicant requested permission to construct a pool deck along a rear property line that would fall within a 10-foot "D and U" easement; staff again reported review and recommended approval.
