Galloway branch to close June 16 for $2.5 million HVAC installation, county says

Atlantic County announced that the Galloway branch of the Atlantic County Library System will close beginning Monday, June 16, for installation of a new $2,500,000 heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system.
A county official told commissioners the project is partially funded by a New Jersey State Library construction bond grant and by American Rescue Plan money. The Galloway branch is not expected to reopen until the fall; during construction the book drop at the front of the building will remain available for returns, and patrons were encouraged to use any of the library system's other nine branches. The county posted a web notice at www.atlanticlibrary.org for branch locations and hours.
The county representative said previous HVAC work had been completed earlier this year at other branches, including Hamilton and Mays Landing, and that partial funding for the Galloway project comes from the state library construction bond program and ARP funds. No further public comment was recorded about the closure during the meeting.
The county asked patrons and community groups to check the library system's website for updates on reopening and branch services during construction.
