"It is an honor to be...I spoke to the county executive and said if there is ever an opening on the ACUA I'd like to be considered," Marino told the board, describing prior service on the Solid Waste Advisory Council and saying he would resign from that council if appointed. He said he wants to be "your eyes and ears" for taxpayers as the utility advances projects including the Environmental Park.
Commissioners praised Marino's public-service record. Commissioner Risley said, "I know that Alex is gonna make an excellent addition to the ACUA board," and multiple commissioners noted Marino's communication skills and prior experience as a liaison.
The appointment was moved and seconded and the roll call showed unanimous support among commissioners present.
No additional conditions or amendments were recorded at the meeting. Marino's appointment completes following the board vote; he will serve through the stated term expiration date.
