Utility Engineer Bridal Jensen explained the change order covers sidewalk construction on the north edge of the parking lot adjacent to the park. Jensen said the sidewalk was originally planned as asphalt but was changed to concrete during recent municipal sidewalk improvements; the contractor submitted a change request to match the new material and provide a suitable finish rather than an asphalt patch. “That’s what this is for,” Jensen said, describing the request as a materials-change adjustment tied to prior city sidewalk work.
Board members did not request additional information and moved to approve the change order. The board characterized the item as a minor contract adjustment related to the park’s broader water extension work.
No additional funding sources or CIP reallocations were requested; Jensen indicated the change order amount is modest and tied to the contractor’s request to alter specified materials.
