The Redevelopment Authority approved a 60‑day extension of a planning option for a proposed six‑townhouse development at 1118 and 1124 North Van Buren and 910 Revere Street and voted to approve development agreements and small home‑fund gap financing requests from Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity for several single‑family homes.
Staff member Rhonda said the townhouse developer originally proposed five units and has revised plans to six market‑rate two‑bedroom, two‑bath units; the developer asked for a 60‑day extension to finalize architectural plans and financing. Commissioner Matt Schuler moved the extension; the motion passed on a voice vote.
Rhonda presented a development agreement with Green Bay Habitat for Humanity for a 1.5‑story single‑family home at 1305 South Chestnut; she said Habitat will purchase the property for $15,300 and requested $9,970 in home‑fund assistance to close the financing gap. The authority approved the development agreement and the home‑fund request.
The authority also approved three separate home‑fund gap requests from Greater Green Bay Habitat for properties on South Broadway: a two‑story, six‑bedroom home at 1216 South Broadway with a $8,370 request (total project cost $358,370); a similar 6‑bedroom home at 1319 South Broadway requesting $6,470; and a smaller two‑bedroom, one‑bath home at 1321 South Broadway requesting $30,470 due to the lower incomes of the selected household. Staff recommended approval of the requests after reviewing the pro formas and eligibility; motions to approve passed by voice vote.
Authority members asked about resale risk and Habitat’s selection process; Rhonda and staff said Habitat selects families and many of its households remain in homes long term. The authority approved the motions and directed staff to finalize agreements and funding.
