The City of Perry council held an introductory reading of Ordinance 10-53 on June 10, 2025, an application-driven rezoning for an area of less than 10 acres submitted as Z25-01.
City staff told the council the Planning and Zoning Board had already considered and approved the rezoning. Staff said the planning office had not completed all required public-notice steps when the matter first moved through the planning board; the ordinance is being reintroduced so the city can complete required public notice and schedule final readings after the notice period.
No substantive public testimony or substantive debate of zoning details occurred during the introductory reading. Staff indicated the item would return for additional readings after the city’s newspaper notices and other procedural steps were finalized.
The council did not adopt the ordinance at first reading; the item was accepted as an introduction and scheduled to return for additional consideration.
