County launches Project Safer form to give first responders quick access to disability‑specific information

Kelly (county staff) said the Project Safer form is now live on the county website and is available to register at clallamcountywashington.gov/projectsafer. Concerned Citizens and county staff said free county‑fair entrance passes will be offered for Project Safer registration day (August 14) and that the form can be completed online or in person at the public health office at 111 East Third Street, first floor.
Staff said individuals may share as much or as little information as they wish and that completed forms will be securely housed at the sheriff’s office and dispatched to first responders during an encounter. Committee members suggested adding “friends” to the list of emergency contacts to reflect families whose supports are nontraditional; staff agreed to the change.
What’s next: Staff will continue outreach about registration and ensure the form is accessible; the committee suggested confirming text‑reader compatibility and other accessibility checks before wide distribution.
