MRC seeks volunteers for summer and fall outreach: Maritime Festival (June 7) and two September events

She described outreach as a “great education and outreach opportunity” and proposed that the MRC take a table or provide printed materials and coasters to nearby vendors.
The committee also confirmed participation in Forever Stream Fest on Sept. 20 and the Dungeness River Festival on Sept. 26. Members emphasized the volunteer staffing requirement: at least six volunteers per event (two people per 3-hour shift over multiple shifts) to run a table effectively. Committee staff agreed to circulate an online sign-up sheet so members could reserve shifts in advance.
Several members said they could commit to specific shifts; others asked staff to post a sign-up so both in-person and online volunteers can register. The MRC noted potential conflicts with other activities (for example, abalone dives scheduled in late September) and said staff should coordinate so volunteer coverage is realistic.
