Clallam County MRC keeps Latricia Suggs as chair; names Alan Clark vice chair and Northwest Straits rep

Latricia Suggs, chair of the Clallam County Marine Resources Committee, was reappointed chair by unanimous consent during the committee's meeting. Committee members also selected Alan Clark as vice chair and as the committee's representative to the Northwest Straits Commission.

The votes were taken by unanimous consent after members were given the opportunity to object; no opposition was recorded. Suggs opened the nominations and asked whether anyone wished to take the positions. When no objections were raised, the appointments were confirmed.

Suggs (representing the city) led the roll call and called for nominations. Alan Clark volunteered for vice chair during that discussion, saying “I can be vice chair.” Elise Miller spoke in support of Clark when asked if she opposed the selection. After confirming no objections online or in the room, Suggs stated the selections were made “by unanimous consent.”

The committee also confirmed its continuing representation to the Northwest Straits Commission. Suggs noted that Clark had signaled willingness to hold both vice chair and the commission representative role and that the group would be fair to offer the chance to others before voting. No other candidates came forward and members again confirmed Clark by unanimous consent.

The reappointments keep the current leadership team in place while the committee continues its scheduled planning and project work through the next biennium.
