Finance staff reported the county had uploaded requested audit documents and that the auditors accepted the submissions; the audit is currently in progress. The county also confirmed the interim budget was filed on time with the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) and staff will begin final budget work, including grant reconciliations after June 30 to produce final cash numbers.
Staff said the county submitted a $15,000 reimbursement request for a geohydrology study and received reimbursements for a law enforcement recruitment grant (amount not specified). An airport grant reimbursement request was returned by the FAA for one additional documentation item; staff said the county will submit the document and pursue the reimbursement. The Tiger grant reporting remains pending.
Staff also said an event center construction project is substantially delayed because of recent heavy rains and will resume as weather permits. On other grants, DFA confirmed acceptance of quality-of-life ARPA reporting and staff said they will work with departments to finalize outstanding grant reconciliations.
Commissioners asked finance to continue closing year-end entries and to coordinate with department heads on outstanding negative line items and Triadic accounting cleanup. No formal fiscal policy changes were adopted at the meeting.
