Council approves series 12 liquor license for The Cove Cafe at 1446 W. Gurley Street

The Prescott City Council unanimously approved a new Series 12 restaurant liquor license for The Cove Cafe, located at 1446 West Gurley Street, on June 10.
Council opened a public hearing for application No. 343479 and asked the applicant to speak. Annalise Marie Kavner, who identified herself as the owner and a Prescott resident of about 23 years, told the council The Cove Cafe has been open a little over a year and offers coffee, mocktails and a substantial food menu. "We'll still offer mocktails even with beer and wine...for people that don't drink," Kavner said.
Staff reported the application fees had been paid, required signs posted for 20 days, and that the application was in compliance with review standards; no public comments were received. Council closed the public hearing and voted 7-0 to approve the license.
The action authorizes the cafe to sell beer and wine under a Series 12 restaurant license; council made no additional conditions on the approval during the meeting.
