Board members and district staff on June 9 provided a series of updates on summer facilities work, school moves, and community partnerships.
Ms. Hauser, responding to a request for committee and activity reports, described attending an Adopt‑a‑Class breakfast at the Cintas Center where Mayfield teacher Jackie Timing was named teacher of the year among Greater Cincinnati nominees and Phillips Tube was recognized as Partner of the Year. "It was a big day for Middletown City Schools," Ms. Hauser said.
Board members and staff also reported that the district’s community center has been active with summer programs, including a day camp that served about 100 K‑through‑grade students. Staff gave an update that Highview and Central school moves are underway: Highview teachers have vacated their building and Central offices are operating from the Highview gym while moves continue.
The board heard that the turf project is proceeding and that the bus garage and other summer activities are in motion, with staff working through packing and relocations. One board member invited colleagues to visit the community center and said it is "an amazing asset for the community."
All updates were informational; no formal board action was taken on these items during the meeting.
