The Sandusky City Commission approved, as part of the consent agenda on June 9, a purchase-and-sale agreement transferring 813 North Depot Street to Serving Our Seniors, a local nonprofit that provides services for older residents.
Sue Doherty, identified in the meeting as representing Serving Our Seniors, addressed the commission during public comment to thank the city for its actions to support affordable housing and said the donation or sale will assist that mission. "I want to reiterate my appreciation to the city of Sandusky for its work in helping, all of us foster an environment that supports affordable housing," she said.
The consent agenda also included, among other items, approval of a new liquor license for Sandtown Holdings LLC at 215 East Water Street and change orders for storm-sewer and park-amenity projects; those consent items were handled together and approved without separate debate. The sale of 813 North Depot to Serving Our Seniors was on the consent list and passed with the other consent items by unanimous voice/roll call as recorded by Miss Myers.
No specific sale price, closing date, or implementation timetable was stated in the public record at the meeting.
